The structure and members of the new Parliament has been decided in a meeting held two days back. With 90 plus members, including PG students and club coordinators, the number seems to be a little too high. One tends to believe that not much fruitful thinking can take place among so many students. Considering that the Parliament has been formed to think and facilitate the smooth running of student life, such a number seems unjustifiable.

The Parliament also elected its new speaker, Subhashis Chand. Chand is known to be one of the most popular students in the UG2K5 batch. A little birdie tells me that the deputy speaker was also to be selected during the meeting, but Pranav’s lengthy message to the new Parliamentarians did not leave any time for the same! Wish someone throws more light on that.
